IDEA's niche is providing a variety of communication services for programs and projects. IDEA manages all or any aspect of developing an educational message.

Using IDEA Services

IDEA is a cost center affiliated with ISU Extension. It is self-sustaining through the fees it charges.

When a client contacts IDEA, staff gathers information about the program or project, discusses possible directions that will meet the client's goals, and proposes ideas.

Based on the initial discussion with the client, IDEA provides detailed cost estimates. If the client decides to work with IDEA, a Professional Services Agreement is signed describing the services and their costs, as well as the timeline for completion.

Paying for IDEA Services

IDEA charges on an hourly basis and provides a client with a detailed estimate.

Because the USDA recognizes IDEA as a cost center, IDEA's services are often written into grant proposals. Funding for the proposal's communication materials, online reporting systems, or other IDEA services is then provided through the grant.
